Finding God In A Distracted World

Speaker: Rev Daphne Lau
20 Oct, Sat, 5.30 pm, BTCCL6.Audi2
21 Oct, Sun, 9.30 am, BTCCL5.Audi1

We live in a busy, distracted world.  People are "glued" to their mobile phones in the train, on the street and even during meetings/dinners. There's so much to catch up, so many things to do ... it's tiring but FUN!  Family, holidays, social invites, exercise classes, drama series, etc - are clamoring for our time and attention.

No wonder Christians are becoming less interested in God. Time with God is limited to church services (they often fall asleep in church!). Prayer is simply "Thank You, God, for the food." It's time to get back to a passionate personal experience with God!  So, let's talk about WORSHIP that's more than singing a song or listening to a sermon. Real, dynamic worship of our Living & Loving God.

Pastor Daphne Lau serves as the Worship Pastor as well as in the leadership of Missions in Eternal Life Assembly.  Her life overflows with genuine love and passion for God.  She is gifted in music and singing and will launch her 2nd album later in the year. Her first album, A New Day, has blessed many people in different countries.

Growing Old But Strong

Speaker: Rev Ian Peters (USA)
27 Oct, Sat, 5.30 pm, BTCCL6.Audi2
28 Oct, Sun, 9.30 am, BTCCL5.Audi1

"There is nothing new under the sun." This statement taken from Ecclesiastes is used to describe the monotony of life.  As one grows older, life seems to get boring - the "same old, same old".

It is a temptation for Christians to carry this attitude into their life with God. They have seen it all; they have learnt it all; they have done it all. Passion wanes and Christianity becomes a routine. Does it have to be this way?  Pastor Ian Peters will share from the Bible and his own personal experience how we can keep being spiritually strong as we grow old.

Rev Ian Peters has a ministry with an apostolic/prophetic edge, speaking into the lives of believers and reaching out to the unsaved.  He ministers truth with humor, imparts faith with vision and passion with power.  Born into a Pentecostal home, the call of God was evident on his life very early.   In 1981 he graduated from Bible school and began preaching the Gospel. He married Maree in 1982 and has two married sons.

After being ‘on the road’ for 15 years, Ian and Maree accepted the responsibility as Senior Ministers of Citylights Church in Brooklyn Park, MN.  In addition to his own church and ministry commitments, he was appointed as the Apostolic Overseer of The Omega Team (an International Apostolic Network of ministers and ministries) in April 2012.

At the end of June 2015, Ian and Maree felt it was time to step down from their local church and ‘get back on the road’ where their passion lies.  Whether ministering to leaders, business people, in revival meetings/camps or one on one, you can expect that Ian will bring the word of the Lord for that situation.

Is Sex Outside Of Marriage Wrong?

Speaker: Rev Anthony Chua
10 Nov, Sat, 5.30 pm, BTCCL6.Audi2
11 Nov, Sun, 9.30 am, BTCCL5.Audi1

"Is Sex Outside Marriage Wrong?"

Is that really the topic in the church's weekend services?  Can we talk about sex in church?

In our series, Let's talk about...", we are going to know God's heart about sex.  We seldom hear this topic spoken in the church although it is much needed. In a world with rapidly-changing culture, what we know is wrong has become alright. Does the Bible address the topic of sex directly? Come with us as Pastor Anthony unpacks God's word about marriage and sex in a highly sexualised society.

Pastor Anthony is the pastor in charge of the youth and young adults in Eternal Life Assembly. He has a touching transformation experience when Christ changed his life.  He is married to Serina and has 1 son.

Can We Just Be Friends?

Speaker: Rev Alvin Ngo
17 Nov, Sat, 5.30 pm, BTCCL6.Audi2
18 Nov, Sun, 9.30 am, BTCCL5.Audi1

"Friends with benefits" is a modern day term used to describe friends who think that it's ok to have occasional casual sex without the commitment of marriage. We read about affairs in the office. It seems that a relationship with the opposite sex is not possible without developing into romance or sex.

Let's talk about Relationships and find out how we can establish healthy friendship with the opposite sex.  Learn what the Bible teaches and get practical tips on how to keep our friendships pure and enriching.

Pastor Alvin is the deputy senior pastor in Eternal Life Assembly. He has many years of experience in Christian ministry. He is married to Wai Leng and has 2 sons, 1 daughter and 1 daughter-in-law.

Real Conversations

Speaker: Rev Bob Lum
24 Nov, Sat, 5.30 pm, BTCCL6.Audi2
25 Nov, Sun, 9.30 am, BTCCL5.Audi1

We have questions that we want to ask. We have issues that we wish we could discuss with someone. We have an experience that we want to share with others. BUT we don't know who to ask or how to bring up the issue. We are afraid that people may not want to hear what we have to say or they may reject us after knowing our story.

In the authentic loving community we call "Church", we should be able to have real conversations. Sometimes it is difficult to broach the subject. In this final session of the "Let's Talk About ...." series, let us move closer to the Christian model of fellowship and friendship.

Pastor Bob is the senior pastor of Eternal Life Assembly. He has attended the same church since he became a Christian in 1967.  Being friendly and down-to-earth, his messages are practical. He is married to Dorothy and has 3 daughters, 1 son-in-law and 2 grandchildren.
