I. JESUS – WHAT HAS HE GOT TO DO WITH ME?

One of the most known verses from the Bible says:

The Book of John
Chapter 3, Verse 16.

The next verse adds:
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
(The Book of John, Chapter 3, Verse 17)

God sent Jesus to save the world. He did not come to condemn or judge any person. Including you.

II. MY PROBLEM IS SIN

The Bible says:

The Book of Romans, Chapter 3, Verse 23

The Oxford dictionary defines sin as “an offence against God or against a religious or moral law”. Every person struggles with sin.

As the poet, Alexander Pope says, “To err is human.” And we are human.

Sin carries grave consequences. It separates us from God and condemns us to death.

“For the wages of sin is death.” (The Book of Romans Chapter 6, Verse 23)

We see the results of sin in our world – pain, suffering and destruction. Deep down inside, we know that we have also sinned, in our ways. We must find a way to deal with sin before it is too late.

Jesus provides the solution. Find out in the next section.

III. JESUS SOLVES MY SIN PROBLEM

The Book of Romans
Chapter 6, Verse 23b

As we have seen in the previous section, the penalty of sin is separation from God and death. However, God, in His love, sent Jesus to die on our behalf. He bore the consequences of our sin through His death on the cross.

The Bible says:
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (The Book of Romans, Chapter 5, Verse 8)

Thus, the Bible offers:
“The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (The Book of Romans, Chapter 6, Verse 23)

This is good news. We can enjoy eternal life in Jesus! There is more good news. We can be reconciled with God.
“God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.” (The Book of 2 Corinthians, Chapter 5, Verse 19)

The next section guides you on how you can be reconciled with God and receive eternal life.
