Word of the Month (CHANGE THIS MONTHLY)

The Apostle Paul is an excellent model of a person who gives thanks for other people in his life. He begins many of his letters by givings thanks to God for the believers in Christ (Rom 1:8, 1 Cor 1:4, Eph 1:16, Phil 1:3, Col 1:3)

It is not enough to be grateful. We must express it; whether it is saying “Thank You”, writing a note of appreciation or giving a gift. William Arthur Ward, motivational writer, says, “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.

Singaporeans, unfortunately, are known to be “complain king or queen’. We do not know how to give a compliment. We are stingy with our thanks and praise. The Bible teaches us in Romans 13:7, “Give to everyone what you owe them …. if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”

Our church has dedicated September as the Appreciation Month. I hope that we will thank those who serve us in the church ministries as well as those who serve us in every other way.

Brighten someone’s day with your sincere thanks!
